CoderSchool (“CoderSchool,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by CoderSchool. This Privacy Policy applies to data collected for the Developer Circles Vietnam Innovation Challenge (our “Program”). This includes all the data provided during the application phase until the end of the program. By accessing and/or participating in the Program, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to the Terms and Conditions and to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

  1. What information do we collect and for what purpose?


The categories of information (“information” or “data”) we collect include:

A.) Information you provide us directly. We may collect personal contact information such as your name, email address, phone number, and other information for communication purposes. This information will be used for us to communicate with you regarding updates to the events, logistics, and any other information regarding the Program. Note that this only applies for information you provide us during the time frame of the program. This information that is collected for communication purposes will not be used for any commercial purposes.

B.) Information for the application process. During the application process, we will collect more information related to the screening program. This can include, but is not limited to, your age, physical location, gender, career interests, etc. This information is used in order to select the candidates for the program and for us to select the candidates. Your information will be kept confidential and only be viewable by the screening committee.

The aggregate data and information will be used for marketing purposes for the final marketing events for the competition, and may be used in the future for future marketing purposes of CoderSchool.

This information (that is directly related to the application process) may also be sent to third parties outside of CoderSchool:

Third parties:

  • Facebook: Because this program is conjunction with Facebook, your information will be provided to Facebook to use and process for screening purposes. This is part of the compliance and screening review.
  • Sponsors: Your information may be provided to sponsors of the program in order to better connect applicants with future company prospects. If applicants are not interested in future career opportunities, applicants may opt out of CoderSchool providing the information to sponsors.

C.) Information provided by Facebook. During the screening process, Facebook will provide us assistance with the screening and compliance review for applicants. Facebook will not provide CoderSchool directly with information regarding applicants, but they will provide assistance during review using information that we did not collect.

  1. How will we collect your information?

Your information will be primarily collected during the registration and application process. We will collect further information through the duration of the program. This information includes (but is not limited to), feedback about the program, university schedules, and team information. This information will be used for us to improve the program and to prepare the marketing for the final events of the competition.

Website and social media information: Your information will also be collected from the official program website, and from our social media channels including (but not limited to), Facebook, Linkedin, etc. This information is primarily used for communication between CoderSchool and you.

Other online information will be collected from third party tracking and advertising from visiting the website and other social media channels.

  1. Sharing of your information

We may share your personal information as mentioned in the above sections for the application, screening, and career placement purposes. The aggregate information of all participants and applicants will be used for continually improving the competition and making changes to the program. We will also be using the data for marketing of the final event. For example, we may use the aggregate data to display statistics of our applicants.

Any pictures taken during the competition may be shared on the social media channels of CoderSchool. You, and other applicants, may be in some of these pictures. If you wish to modify, review, or delete any pictures that contain you, you may email us at devc-support@coderschool.vn

Hosts of the competition. We will share your name, email address, phone number and other registration information you provide with host locations for the purpose running and evaluating entries for the competition.


Third-party vendors and other service providers that perform services on our behalf, as needed to carry out their work for us, which may include identifying and serving targeted advertisements, providing mailing services, providing tax and accounting services, contest fulfilment, web hosting, or providing analytic services.


The public when you provide feedback or user content on our Service. For example, if you post user content on our blog or comment on our social media sites, your information, such as your name, residence, and your comments, may be displayed on our Service or on our social media pages.

Third parties as required by law or subpoena or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary to (a) comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement; (b) to enforce our Official Rules (as also applicable to our Terms and Conditions) or to protect the security or integrity of our Service; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of CoderSchool, our visitors, or others.

  1. Control over your information

How to control your communication preferences: You can stop to receive promotional email communications by clicking the “unsubscribe link” provided in the communications. You can stop receiving social media updates by using the prospective social media tools’ methods of modifying communication preferences. For example, in Linkedin, you may unfollow CoderSchool to stop receiving updates from us. We will make every effort possible to promptly process all unsubscribe events.

If you are an applicant or participant of the program: You may not opt out of the service-related communications. This can include (but is not limited to), updates to classes, communications for the program, team updates, updates to our terms and conditions, and more.

Modifying or deleting your information: You may, however, opt out of being an applicant or participant in the program at any time. Please email us at devc-support@coderschool.vn . if you need immediate opt out of the program, or have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting your information. We may not be able to modify or delete all of your information in all circumstances.

  1. How we store and protect your information

Data storage and transfer: Your information collected through our website and application process may be stored and processed in Vietnam, Singapore, or any other country where CoderSchool or its service providers maintain facilities.

Keeping your information safe: We care about the security of your information and employ physical, administrative, and technological safeguards designed to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected through our Service. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems 100%. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and, where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

  1. Children’s privacy

As mentioned in the terms and conditions, there will be a minimum age requirement of 16. We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 16 for the purposes of the service. In the event that we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under age 16, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.   1. Changes to our privacy policy


We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect the changes in our business and practices, so you should review this page periodically. When we change the policy in a material manner, we will let you know and update the ‘last modified’ date at the bottom of this page. If you object to any changes, you may withdraw from the program. Continuing to use our service after we publish changes to this Privacy Policy means that you are consenting to the changes.
